OWLS, Kyushu's longest established ALT provider is now hiring for the 2025 school year.
Teach English at elementary, junior high schools and senior high schools throughout Kyushu and Yamaguchi.
General position details:
Work alongside Japanese teachers teaching English at public schools
Encourage and motivate students to learn and participate actively.
Promote the use of English, both inside and outside the classroom.
Be part of the school community by being involved with activities (sports/culture day, English speech contests etc.)
Be a responsible role-model for students.
Location:
Throughout Kyushu, from Fukuoka to Kagoshima and areas of Yamaguchi prefecture.
Contract Duration:
From April 1st 2025 to March 31st 2026 (Contracts are renewable from April 1st for the following year)
Work days:
Monday to Friday
Work hours:
8:30 - 16:30 (times may vary slightly depending upon location)
Compensation:
Base salary from to 220,000 yen and up depending upon experience and Japanese language ability.
Transportation expenses:
Up to 15,000 yen per month provided on top of the base salary.
Insurance:
Social Insurance applied. 50% of which is paid by OWLS. (Includes health insurance, national pension and employment insurance)
Applicant must either be a native English speaker or have at least 12 years of being fully educated in English proof for via sponsorship if required.
Advantageous qualifications:
TEFL / TESOL certification
Teaching license
Valid Japanese driver's license
IT Skills in presentation software and Google suits
Visa:
Visa sponsorship available for eligible applicants.
Accommodation:
Assistance in finding accommodation is available to successful applicants.
