◆ Who We Are

At KDA Online, our mission is to provide students with the tools to pursue their full potential and gain a lifelong love of English. In the pursuit of this mission, we strive to provide students with the best education possible.

In the online setting, Native English Teachers (NETs) work as a team and use their unique talents to support students in their studies. KDA students are at a much higher level than average students studying English for their age, and as such, we teach them in English as opposed to just teaching them English.

We teach topics that native students usually encounter in elementary school, including social studies, math, art, history, and science. We teach them vocabulary and grammar related to the topic and we challenge them to use what they learn about the topic to have involved discussions, debates, and presentations.

KDA’s systematic and practical approach makes for a comprehensive style of teaching that helps students learn quickly and effectively.

◆ Kids Duo Advanced: Main Responsibilities & Duties

We are looking for individuals who can deliver high-quality, effective English instruction while acting as ambassadors for the English-speaking world. The ideal candidate should be interested not only in developing others but also in developing themselves.

We prioritize attitude and a desire to learn in our new recruits. As such, no prior teaching experience is required, although a successful work history in the industry is a plus. Our training program and curriculum will provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to deliver lessons to a high standard. Whether this is your first teaching job or you are looking for new challenges within education in Japan, we will offer as much support as we can to help you succeed.

Most students are children ages 5-13. Classes emphasize practical language, and instructors conduct their classes completely in English. Instructors work 8 hours a day, including a 45-minute break, 5 days a week (generally Tuesday through Saturday). Shift times are typically 13:00-21:00 on weekdays, and 10:00-18:00 on weekends (schedules may differ school by school).

◆ Job Requirements

We are looking for new teachers who:

・Are Native English Speakers*
・Have at least a 2-Year Associates Degree OR Valid Working Visa
・Are independent and creatively minded, ready to innovate and adapt in any circumstance
・Can be team-oriented, passionate, enthusiastic, and creative in your approach to teaching children
・Have a strong sense of professionalism, and are self-motivated
・Prior experience with children (teaching or otherwise) is preferred

*Our curriculum puts emphasis on pronunciation and phonics practice. While we of course welcome English speakers from a variety of countries with varying dialects and accents, we ask that you are able to effectively teach and express these concepts in a phonetically natural English environment. Only applicants that are able to meet the highest standards of fluency will be considered.

◆ Application Process

• Application Submitted
• Screening Process (2-3 business days)*
• 1st Interview (Online)
• Introduction to School & 2nd Interview (In-Person/Online)
• Official Offer of Position
• On-Boarding / Visa Support (if necessary)
• Initial Training & School Placement

◆ Pets

Many rental accommodations, especially apartments, may have strict no-pet policies. It can be challenging to find pet-friendly housing, and even if found, it may limit your options significantly.

Overall, it's crucial to consider and respect the cultural and practical aspects of living and working in a foreign country before deciding to bring a pet along. It's advisable to thoroughly research the specific circumstances and requirements in Japan and consider the impact on your lifestyle and the well-being of your pet.

* Note: While we sincerely appreciate all applications, only those candidates selected for interview will be contacted.
