Description

We are seeking a native English-speaking teacher to deliver English classes and perform the same varied daily school tasks as other full-time teachers at Tokyo Seitoku Junior and Senior High School.

Training will be provided at the end of March in preparation to start work on April 1st. The school will apply for your special teaching license from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, so a valid teaching license is not a requirement for this position.

At Tokyo Seitoku you will be working in an exciting environment alongside staff from a variety of international backgrounds. You will be developing and delivering your own classes, as well as team-teaching alongside your colleagues. We have several full-time native English-speaking teachers on staff, which allows for smaller class sizes and more direct English teaching. This is an unique teaching arrangement with many benefits to teacher and students.

Job Description:
- 18 periods a week solo-teaching or team-teaching with native English-speaking colleagues. Teaching communicative English to students in line with Tokyo Seitoku junior and senior high school’s curriculum.
- Assisting and guiding students in their studies
- Performing tasks related to school and student management work
- Planning and delivering extra-curricular sessions and seminars
- Participating in memorable school events

Requirements:
- Enthusiastic about education and improving student's English skills
- University degree (bachelor’s degree and above)
- Valid work visa for Japan
- Computer and word processing skills

Desirable:
- TESOL qualification (e.g., CELTA)
- English teaching experience
- Japanese language skills

Salary:
- Determined in accordance with the school’s salary regulations
- Variable depending on experience
- Salary increases on annual renewal
- 350,000 yen per month (in case of a 30-year-old-applicant with no teaching experience)

Working Hours:
- Annual variable working hours system
- Regularly Monday to Friday, 8:15 to 18:00 (including a 60 minutes break), but after 16:30 it is possible to leave school and to work from home.
- 40 hours work per week on average for the year
