【Teach near Mount Fuji! Be an ALT in Susono】
Borderlink, Inc. is now hiring for Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) positions in Susono City, Shizuoka Prefecture. These positions will start from April 2024, but we are accepting applications immediately. If you are looking to relocate to the Shizuoka area, we can assist you. Susono is located in far eastern Shizuoka, on the foothills of Mount Fuji, Mount Ashitaka, and the Hakone Mountains. An industrial city with a suburban feel, it produces everything from cars and camera parts to strawberries and pork. Local attractions include the Mt. Fuji Museum, Gurimpa amusement park, the Fujiyama Snow Resort Yeti ski resort, and the famous Fuji Safari Park, which allows visitors to see animals from their cars or up close at a petting zoo. Nearby Mishima City is accessible by car, train or bus, and connects to the Tokaido Shinkansen. A scenic country city- Mount Fuji is always visible and some parts of it lie within city limits- Susono is an excellent place to take your teaching career this year.

【Position Details】
Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) work alongside Japanese teachers to make English lessons fun and engaging for the students. Practicing grammar and vocabulary, participating in games and activities to reinforce the lesson’s goals and communicating with students both inside and outside of the classroom are all part of a day’s work for ALTs.

⚫ Contract period: April 4th, 2024 to March 19th, 2025
⚫ Contract type: Full-Time
⚫ Level: Elementary and/or junior high schools
⚫ General working hours: Between 8:00 to 16:30 (actual working time: 7 hours 45 minutes)
⚫ Salary range: Between 220,000 to 250,000 yen / month
⚫ Benefits: Social Insurance, paid holidays (as stipulated by the contract)

【Requirements】
ALTs should be motivated, enthusiastic, professional and proactive in communicating with others. Successful applicants must also meet the following criteria:

🔺 Already be living in Japan and hold a valid visa permitting work
🔺 University graduate holding a Bachelor's degree or equivalent
🔺 Have native-level English proficiency with natural phonetic fluency and a minimum of 12 years of education where the main language of instruction in all classes was English
🔺 Have conversational Japanese skills and be comfortable talking with teachers and staff
🔺 Are in good health and able to commit and complete the contract period (until March 2025)
🔺 Hold a valid Japanese Driver's License or International Driving Permit (IDP). Those placed in driving positions who do not own a vehicle can lease a company car from us.
🔺 Additionally, at least one (1) of the following criteria must be met:
- You hold a valid TEFL/TESOL/equivalent teaching certificate
- You have prior and/or other English teaching experience in Japan
