Sunnyside International Language Center (SILC) is located in the scenic rural outskirts of Gifu City, and provides quality English programs to children aged three to eighteen years old.
We are currently seeking a full-time LANGUAGE CENTER MANAGER, to start APRIL 1st, 2015. The successful applicant will manage the center, its staff, and continue to create, maintain and develop all of its curricula. In addition, this role will require working closely alongside a Japanese partner, to ensure that there is excellent communication between staff and with the parent community.
Working at our language center is a deeply rewarding experience, but one that requires a higher level of maturity, responsibility, work ethic, and commitment than many other English language jobs in Japan.
Applicants should be available to visit the language center for an interview, perform a short demonstration lesson, discuss perspectives on curriculum, as well as be able to attend some training before commencing employment. Candidates who aren’t able to visit the school for a full interview may still apply, however preference will be given to those who can.
Ideal applicants will have lots of experience in curriculum design, managing others, possess an ability to work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues, and have a holistic and constructivist view of children’s education. Child-centered teaching and learning is a strong element of SILC’s curriculum philosophy.
Visa sponsorship is available to those holding a bachelors degree.
Depending on availability, subsidized, furnished apartments will be provided. There are bonuses available on top of the regular monthly salary, with increases based on performance.
Approximately 7 weeks of paid vacation that correspond with SILC’s vacation times (summer, winter, spring), and 5 days of personal leave are also provided.
Applicants should send a cover letter explaining why you are interested in this position, along with a resume, a photo, and two references (references will be contacted).
Only applicants who meet these requirements will be contacted.
