The International Academic Forum (IAFOR) was established in 2009 in Nagoya, Japan with the objective of facilitating and promoting international, intercultural and interdisciplinary exchange between academics. To this end, IAFOR runs more than 30 academic conferences in Japan, the UK, USA, UAE and Spain with the support of some of the world’s foremost academic institutions. IAFOR’s publications provide a global online platform for much of the research generated by these events, and include over a dozen peer-reviewed, open-access journals, conference proceedings and an online magazine, "THINK". The organisation also produces its own original research, and runs international documentary photography and film awards, and a haiku award.
